When Your Dog Is A Better Teacher Than You

Every pet mom or dad knows how tricky it is to teach young pups tricks because they get distracted by pretty much, everything.

Lucky for these dog parents to have an older dog whose name is Rufus, who knows the ropes and is lending them a paw in trying to make sense of the command ‘sit’ for his younger dog brother, Jet.

Fur mom says, “Jet, sit,” but Jet is too busy sniffing around for his treat to understand what his human is asking him to do. Rufus who has long mastered the ‘sit’ command, calmly puts a front leg on Jet’s back and pushes him down to sit. Of course, Rufus did this because he knew both of them would get a treat if he got Jet to sit. To be fair, he did a better job teaching Jet this simple dog trick than their fur parents!

The easiest and most effective way to teach a puppy to sit is to hold the treat directly above their heads so they have to look up and back and naturally sit. But if you have a gentle, and smart older dog like Rufus, you can use his help too.
