What are you afraid of? Insects? Darkness? Heights? Public speaking?
Everyone is afraid of something. There is always that one thing that drives us to our knees, trembling to the core. It is not a good feeling.
But why does everyone keep telling us to “face your fear”? Why can’t we just hide at the sight of it or flee to the opposite direction?
Naguib Mahfouz, an Egyptian writer who won the 1988 Nobel Prize for Literature, said “Fear does not prevent death, it prevents life.” This quote was used by Nature Journal in a video they have uploaded that has gone viral recently.
For those who are dead scared of heights, the video might awaken that fear in you.
The video features a walk at the side of a very high cliff, thousands of feet above ground. Several people undertook this scary trip and proceed to the hanging bridge, which consists of four pieces of rope.
