- John Dillinger
Go back in time to the 1930s and you wouldn’t be able to talk about crime and gangsters without mentioning John Dillinger. This crook was notorious for initiating numerous robberies. After being arrested, John Dillinger never succumbed to the system and plotted countless prison breaks. Not intimidated by the guards at all, he escaped from the Ohio prison in 1933 after having guns smuggled in. But the icing on the cake on his criminal reputation was his escape from Crown Point Jail in Indiana in the year 1934, which claimed to be an escape-proof facility. John Dillinger whittled a fake gun from a piece of wood to trick the guards, stole the sheriff’s car and took off.
