China’s Most Bizarre Discoveries

China, being home to one of the world’s oldest civilizations, surely has amazing archaeologic secrets tucked away many feet below the surface. Some of these treasures have been found and comprise some of the most bizarre discoveries ever made on Chinese soil.

Here are a few of them:

  1. 700-year-old mummy [mashshare]

This 700-year-old mummy was discovered by Chinese road workers when they were trying to expand a street and it was in a surprisingly good condition for a 700-year-old dead body. It was believed that the lady mummy belonged to an upper-class family from the Ming dynasty due to the fact that she was wrapped in silk and cotton.

  1. Ancient Chinese Capital [mashshare]

Archaeologists discovered another great wall believed to have been the largest city in the Chinese Bronze Age. It is over 3000 years old and even found an ancient human skeleton dated even older than the walls. This city is believed to be older than Rome and the seat of government for the Sheng Dynasty.
