What comes into your mind when you hear the word “cheerleading”?
Maybe the image of skinny girls with long flowy hair like the ones we see in the movies, or maybe the amazing backflips and pyramids the cheerleaders form to make their routine beautiful.
However, this team just proved that what matters in cheerleading is more than just the image or the routine. It is the heart.
The Special Olympics cheerleading squad from Pasco County, Florida performed a heartwarming and beautiful routine.
Although admittedly, it is not something you see on television for its perfect air splits and cartwheels and pyramids, there is something deeply touching about how these people do the whole routine.
They have the most heartfelt smiles as they raise their arms and jump and dance. It may not be the best, but it is certainly beautiful.
